Big Island weekly lane closures: Dec. 21-27
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Dec. 21-27.
A Holiday Lane Closure Restriction runs from Dec. 23 through Jan. 5. Only closures with demonstrated need (e.g., necessary for safety or to avoid lengthy construction delays) have been approved and are on this list.
There will be no lane closures or Highway 130 contraflow on Christmas Day.

— VOLCANO ROAD/MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —
MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between milepost 15 and 16, vicinity of North Kopua Road and North Peck Road on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for tree trimming and grass cutting.
NĀ‘ĀLEHU (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between milepost 53 to 56, in the vicinity of Ninole Loop on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
KEAUHOU (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between milepost 115 to 116, in the vicinity of Pu‘uloa Road and Walua Road on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

NINOLE (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 17 to 19, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
PA‘AUILO (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 31 to 41, in the vicinity of Kalopa Road and Niupea Homestead Road on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting between cut sections and bridge approaches.

KAILUA KONA (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between milepost 16 to 18, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.
KAILUA-KONA (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Palani Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between milepost 35 to 38, in the vicinity of Ane Keohokalole Highway and Onaona Drive, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.
