Hawaiian Electric utility work to close one lane of Hawai‘i Belt Road in Kona

Hawaiian Electric is notifying the public that occasional traffic delays will be possible Thursday throughout the day on a portion of Hawai‘i Belt Road in Kona because of its utility crewmen working in the area.

Crews will be be replacing a utility pole near the intersection of Hawai‘i Belt Road and Kuakini Highway from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Occasional traffic delays can be anticpated in the right turn lane from Hawai‘i Belt Road to Kuakini Highway while the work is underway.

Flaggers will be on-site to provide traffic control.

Motorists should make appropriate arrangements and plan for delays when driving through the area. Drive with caution when approaching and passing the work zone.
