Hawai‘i Island police seek public help finding missing man

Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man.

Brian Riggs, 47, was reported missing on Thanksgiving Day. He was last seen on Welea Street in Pāhoa on the morning of Nov. 25 at about 6 a.m. and was heading to a fishing spot in the North Kohala district.

According to a press release from police, Riggs was driving a white 2006 Hummer H3, with a Hawai‘i license plate PTX698. The 47-year-old was last known to have been in the Waiakailio Bay area on Tuesday at about 4 p.m.

Riggs has a fair complexion and, a large frame. He is about 6 feet tall, weighs 230 pounds with hazel eyes and is mostly bald with brown stubble hair.

He has a squirrel tattoo on the inside of each leg and a small scar above his left eye and a scar on his inner left arm.

Police ask anyone with information on Riggs’ whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
