Blood drive in Hilo offers donors chance to win 2 roundtrip tickets from Alaska Airlines

Blood Bank of Hawai’i is hosting a blood drive Sept. 17-19 in Hilo at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Donors of life-saving blood at this drive will have the chance to two round-trip tickets to any destination Alaska Airlines flies as part of the blood bank’s 2024 Summer Ultimate Gift Sweepstakes.

Blood Drives

All donors who participate in the blood drive anywhere in the state through Sept. 30 will automatically be entered into the sweepstakes. To increase the chances of winning, donors can bring a friend or family member to also donate or schedule a future donation after the initial visit.

The three-day drive at the church located at 522 Ponahawai St. will run the following hours:

  • Tuesday: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Thursday: 6 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Blood donations from the Hilo community are essential to ensuring a stable blood supply across the state. Each donation has the potential to save up to three lives.
