The 25th Queen Liliʻuokalani Festival was held Saturday to celebrate her birthday and pay tribute to the historical gardens in Hilo that were named after her.

Hundreds of dancers performed a mass hula as floral blossoms were dropped from a helicopter provided by the Hawaii County Fire Department.

The festivities also included arts, crafts, food, demonstrations, traditional Hawaiian childrenʻs games and cultural activities. Entertainment was performed by Darlene Ahuna, Taishoji Taiko, Just Us Band and Ben Kaili & Kanakapila.
