Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.

In observance of Labor Day, on Sept. 2, there will be no lane closures or HOV/Contraflow Lane operations. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

KEA‘AU TO KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction, between milepost 7 to 10, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road and Hale Pule Loop, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 17.6 to 18.5, on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Opea and Waikaumalo Bridge maintenance repairs.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 17.6 to 18.5, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Opea and Waikaumalo Bridge maintenance repairs.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 18 to 19, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAPA‘ALOA TO O‘OKALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 24 to 29, in the vicinity of Papa‘a Loa Avenue and Moonlight Road, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

Shoulder closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 58 to 59, in the vicinity of Kohala Mountain Road, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

KEA‘AU (NIGHT WORK)

— KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197) —

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Kealakehe Parkway (Route 197) possible in either direction between milepost 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kamanu Street, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving of new bike lane and signage installations.

— DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 200) —

HILO

Alternating single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between milepost 10.29 to 12.29, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to apply new striping and raised pavement markers.

HILO

Alternating single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between milepost 17.3 to 20.8, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to apply new striping and raised pavement markers.

3) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 18 to 22, on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between milepost 6.2 to 10.6, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for application of permanent striping as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.

— AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

KAMUELA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between milepost 0.5 to 3, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HAWĪ (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between milepost 11 to 15, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work and tree trimming.

— PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) —

HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Sept. 3, through the morning of Sept. 6, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving the roadway as part of the Puainako Street Widening Project.
