A high surf advisory for east-facing shores will begin at 6 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Honolulu, a short-period swell associated with Tropical Storm Hone will build through Friday night, peak Saturday and gradually fade during Sunday.

Large breaking waves are expected to be 7 to 10 feet. Hazardous surf is expected along southeast-, east- and north-facing shores.

Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous.
