Big Island weekly lane closures: June 29-July 5

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for June 29 to July 5.

There will be no contraflow or lane closures on July 4 in observance of Independence Day, unless otherwise permitted. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here.

—MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY/HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 11) —

PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 53 to 56, in the vicinity of Ninole Loop Road, on Saturday, June 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting.

NĀ‘ĀLEHU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 66 to 69.5, in the vicinity of Lorenzo Drive, on Monday, July 1, through Wednesday, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 87 to 90, in the vicinity of Ohana Road, on Saturday, June 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway/ Saddle Road (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 8 to 16, on Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work and vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Akaka Falls Road (Route 220) possible in either direction, between mile post 1 to 3.7, in the vicinity of Stable Camp Road and Akaka Falls State Park, on Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3, and Friday, July 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for over-banding in designated areas as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3, and Friday, July 5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway for the Puainako Street Widening Project.
