Siren sounding at Laupāhoehoe Point on Big Island because of malfunction

Hawai‘i County Civil Defense reports that a siren heard sounding this morning at Laupāhoehoe Point in Hāmākua was because of a malfunction.

There is no emergency at this time.

If there had been an actual emergency, the public would have been asked to tune into the radio or television for additional information.
