Installation of safety enhancement measures on Waimea road begins this week

Traffic safety enhancements will be installed on ‘Opelo Road in Waimea. (Courtesy image)

Work to install new traffic signs and markings on ‘Opelo Road in Waimea is set to begin this week.

Crews with the Hawai‘i County Department of Public Works Traffic Division are slated to work from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. starting May 13.

Installation of the traffic safety enhancement measures will commence on the side of the road directly across from ‘Opelo Plaza.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and expect possible delays while driving through the area.
