Hawai’i County Civil Defense reports all roads that were previously closed because of surf, wind and rain earlier this week are now open to traffic.

Another cold front will move in from the northwest early Thursday morning, bringing weather conditions similar to those Monday and Tuesday.

High winds, potentially wind advisory level, will begin Thursday morning and continue through Friday. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are also likely beginning Thursday.

The National Weather Service also issued a coastal flood statement for all Hawaiian islands, including the Big Island in effect from this evening through Saturday morning. In combination with early morning high tides and wave runup, a large north swell will produce moderate coastal flooding impacts Friday and Saturday.

The public is advised to take this time to prepare for high winds, flooding rain and coastal flooding.

The cold front and weather conditions are forecast to dissipate by this weekend.
