Officials respond to fire Monday in Hawaiian Paradise Park, cause under investigation

Hawai’i County Fire Department personnel responded to a structure fire at around 4:50 p.m. Monday in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

Firefighters arrived on scene at 15-1698 23rd Avenue in the East Hawai’i Subdivision and found a single story, approximately 1500 square-foot, wooden structure that was 75% involved.

Members of the Hawai’i Police Department also arrived on scene and no occupants were found on the property at the time.

According to a release, the incident was turned over to the Hawai’i Police Department, and is under further investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

The fire was extinguished at about 5:45 p.m.
