Weekly Hawai‘i Island lane closures: Sept. 16-22

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced lane closure scheduled for the week of Sept. 2-8.

Schedules also can change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— PUAINAKO STREET (HIGHWAY 2000) —

1) HILO
Single lane closure possible in either direction between Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street on Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for traffic light cameras.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY/MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11) —

1) KEA‘AU (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure between mile post 8 and 11, in the vicinity of Keaau 9 1/2 Mile Cp and North Ala Road, on Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for mechanical mowing.

2) PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 50 and Maile Street on Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

3) CAPTAIN COOK (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction in the vicinity of Telephone Exchange Road and Koa Road, on Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD/KAWAIHAE ROAD (HIGHWAY 19) —

1) PĀPA‘IKOU (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 6 and 8, in the vicinity of Kaaukai Place and Hanawi Street, beginning Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

2) HAKALAU TO NĪNOLE
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 15.7 and 17.8, in the vicinity of Leopolino Road, on Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday, Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for repaving work.

3) HONOMŪ TO PEPEʻEKEO (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 13, in the vicinity of Kulaimano Road, on Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

4) PĀPA‘ALOA TO ‘Ō‘ŌKALA
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 23 and 27, in the vicinity of Koi Loop and Stevens Road, on Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday, Sept. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping and installing roadway markers.

5) HONOKA‘A
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 36 and 39, in the vicinity of Chopper Boulevard, on Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday, Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping of the roadway.

6) HONOKA‘A TO WAIMEA (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Mud Lane and Iokua Place, on Saturday, Sept. 16, and Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving work.

7) HONOKA‘A TO WAIMEA
Single lane closure possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Mud Lane and Iokua Place on Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190) —

1) WAIMEA
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.9 and 3.9, in the vicinity of Lalamilo Farm Road, beginning Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday, Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping the road.

2) KALAOA
Single lane closure possible in either direction, between mile posts 16.9 and 26, beginning Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on highway safety improvements, strengthening and extending shoulders.

3) KALAOA (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 33 and 35, in the vicinity of Onaona Drive and Iki Place, beginning Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250) —

1) WAIMEA (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 6.17 and 10.6, on Saturday, Sept. 16, though Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstructing the roadway and weakened shoulder.

2) WAIMEA
Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 6.17 and 10.6, beginning Monday, Sept. 18, through Friday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstructing the roadway and weakened shoulder.

— AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 270) —

1) HAWI (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 15 and in the vicinity of Soares Road, beginning Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

2) HAWI (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 18 and 21 in the vicinity of ʻUpolu Airport Road and Maluhia Road, beginning Saturday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for grass cutting.
