Another earthquake hits near Pāhala Sunday

A 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck 6.8 miles northeast of Pāhala on the Big Island at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the depth was around 19 miles.

On Saturday (Aug. 19), a 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck 8.3 miles south-southeast of Pāhala.
