Outrigger Resorts & Hotels expanding to be on all four major Hawaiian islands

Kaua’i Beach Resort & Spa

Outrigger Resorts & Hotels announced Thursday it plans to acquire Kaua‘i Beach Resort & Spa in Līhu‘e.

The transaction to purchase the 25-acre beachfront property with 350 guest rooms is expected to close on Aug. 22, 2023. 

Once the Kaua‘i Beach Resort & Spa is acquired, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts will have a full-service resort on all four of the major Hawaiian Islands.

On the Big Island, it owns Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa.

“Outrigger’s legacy in Hawai‘i spans 75 years,” said Jeff Wagoner, president and CEO of Outrigger. “We remain committed to being exceptional stewards of this special place and its rich cultural heritage, while contributing to the prosperity of the local community.

He said Outrigger managed Kaua‘i Beach Resort & Spa in the 1990s.

“So this transition feels like a welcome home,” Wagoner said.

This news comes on the heels of last month’s announcement that Outrigger acquired Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel on Maui.

The Kauaʻi property will be the company’s seventh acquisition in the past two years in Hawai‘i, Thailand and the Maldives.
