On April 17, Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center, a Hilo skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, named Donna Okinaka its new executive director.

Okinaka has worked in health care for over 12 years. She previously served as human resources director at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home, and in 2018 she earned her nursing home administrator license. Before coming to Hale Anuenue, she was assistant administrator for Hilo Medical Center Extended Care.

“The team here has been great in welcoming me to the facility,” Okinaka said about the Hale Anuenue staff.

“Being in health care is truly a passion of mine,” she said about her job.

Okinaka’s goals are to continue to build relationships within the facility and to provide quality care while improving census and revenue.
