New taproom touts draft beers, ciders and seltzers on Big Island
There’s a new restaurant at The Shops at Mauna Lani in Waikoloa on the Big Island.
Island Hopper Taproom, which claims to have the largest selection of draft beers, ciders and seltzers on the island, opened on March 24 at the Shops at Mauna Lani.
The locally owned and operated business is touting a wide variety of beers, ciders and seltzers produced by Hawaiian breweries, as well as casual family dining.
Island Hopper Taproom has 75 draft offerings in a pint glass, as part of a taster flight, or to take home in a 64-ounce growler.
Along with typical offerings including lagers, IPAs, stouts and ambers, Island Hopper Taproom also has sours, goses, Belgian strong ales, fruit beers and gluten-free beers on draft.
Hawaiian breweries showcased include Big Island Brewhaus, Ola Brew, Kona Brewing Co., Lanikai Brewing, Maui Brewing Co., Aloha Beer Co., Waikiki Brew Co, Hilo Brewing Co. and Paradise Ciders.
Kitchen menu items include smashburgers, wings, loaded fries, salads and sandwiches. The keiki consists of mac and cheese, tenders and cheeseburgers, as well as root beer floats and skillet cookies a la mode.
Business hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m daily.
