Registration for Hawai‘i Tourism Authority’s spring update now open

The Hawai‘i Tourism Authority has announced registration is now open for the 2023 Spring Tourism Update, which will be held in person at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center on Wednesday, April 12.

The full-day update is an opportunity to learn about the latest news, insights and activities related to tourism in Hawaiʻi, and connect with professionals in the industry. There will be multiple presentations covering a range of topics including destination management progress, Hawaiʻi Regional Cuisine, the Waikīkī Safe and Sound program, industry insights and market updates from the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority’s global marketing team.

Pauline J. Sheldon from the University of Hawaiʻi School of Travel Industry Management, will be delivering the luncheon keynote about the importance and impact of regenerative tourism for Hawaiʻi’s future.

Registration is available for $65 plus tax for general attendees, and $25 plus tax for students, which includes access to all sessions, lunch, and evening reception. Parking will be validated for this event.

  • 8:30 a.m. – registration and continental breakfast
  • 9:30 a.m. – Hawai‘i Tourism Authority updates
  • 10:50 a.m. – panel discussions: Hawai‘i Regional Cuisine, Waikīkī Safe & Sound Program
  • 12:30 p.m. – lunch and keynote on regenerative tourism with Pauline Sheldon University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
  • 2 p.m. – panel discussion: legislative updates
  • 2:45 p.m. – market updates; global meetings, conventions (China, Canada, Oceania, Japan and the United States)
  • 4:55 p.m. – closing remarks by Hawai‘i Tourism Authority President and CEO John De Fries
  • 5:30 p.m. – reception (pūpū, entertainment and networking)
