Online Marketplace features products from student entrepreneurs in Hawai’i
The online Marketplace is live, featuring value-added agriculture products created by young entrepreneurs in Hawai’i.
Nearly 300 students from 17 schools across the state are gaining real-world experience building a business end-to-end through the Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation’s Young Entrepreneurs Program.
The program starts with concept and business planning, and then follows a product through development and production to sales on the market.
“It’s rewarding to see the students collaborate, learn the many aspects of operating a business, and share in their excitement to bring their products to market for consumers to enjoy,” said Liz Stanton, the foundation’s director of grants and education.
Shoppers will be amazed by the variety of products, including coconut and avocado ice pops, poha and other fruit jams, and herbs and spice mixes to excite the palate.
Great craftsmanship can be seen in wood-engraved coasters and koa pens, and Gyotaku tote bags, jewelry, bath bombs, and soaps and candles.
The online Marketplace is open now through March 22.
