Repairs completed on water main break in South Kohala

Update: The Hawai’i County Department of Water Supply reported at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday that repairs have been completed to the water main break on Puakō Beach Drive and water service has been restored to the affected customers.

Original story: County crews have responded to a water main break along Puakō Beach Drive this morning. Repairs are underway and are estimated to be completed within four to six hours.

The Department of Water Supply states customers in the area will experience no or intermittent water service while crews work to repair the line. A Department of Water Supply water tanker has been stationed near the Puakō General Store for the public’s use.
