Search Continues for Teen Feared Abducted from Waikōloa
Authorities continue to search for a missing 15-year-old girl, issuing a second Amber Alert early this morning for the teen believed to have been abducted from Waikōloa Friday afternoon.
Mikella Lani Debina was last seen on the south side of Anaeho‘omalu Bay between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. wearing a black bikini top with a floral bottom. She is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall and 120 pounds. The teen has shoulder-length hair and a freckled complexion.
Hawai‘i News Now reported that the victim’s aunt told the Honolulu news outlet that Debina and her boyfriend were at the beach when the suspect approached them and held them at knifepoint.
A Facebook post on the page, Big Island Popo Alert, said that a search is underway this morning beginning at 7 a.m. at Anaeho‘omalu Bay.
Police say Mikella maybe with a local male, described as being approximately 45-60 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build and bareback wearing gray shorts. Mikella is believed to be in danger.
Hawai‘i police ask the public to call 911 immediately if they spot Mikella.
