Military units are scheduled to conduct training at Pōhakuloa Training Area in September that might be heard by surrounding communities.

For the community’s awareness, the planned training dates for this month are as follows:

  • Sept 19-23: Army combined arms live fire. Training will occur during daytime and nighttime hours.
  • Sept 26-30: Marine combined arms live fire. Training will occur during daytime and nighttime hours.
  • Sept 28-30: Army demolitions training. Training will occur during daytime and nighttime hours.

Unmanned aircraft systems training also can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week at PTA in the restricted airspace.

Training dates are subject to change based on safety, weather and other environmental factors. Weather, such as overcast conditions, also can increase noise and vibrations. Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger.
