Interfaith Communities in Action will be holding a FUNdraising Walk at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium to support their signature fund “Hale ka Po’e Keiki,” or homes for children.

This fund was established in January 2022 to support local non-profit organizations helping East Hawai‘i community end family homelessness. Habitat for Humanity Hawai‘i Island is their 2022 recipient.

Registration fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-17, and 5 and under are free. Walkers are encouraged to seek out donors for their registration fee and additional donations, such as by pledging to do a silly dance and/or wear a silly costume during the walk. Prizes will be awarded for the top three walkers who have collected the most donations. Decorated baby strollers and wheelchairs are welcome as walkers.
