Effective immediately, the water restriction notice for affected Laupāhoehoe customers is cancelled, the Department of Water Supply stated Monday morning. Normal water use may resume.
At the beginning of the month, the Kona water restriction was reduced to a voluntary 10% reduction as one of the four downed wells was repaired.
The DWS reminded everyone that safe drinking water is a finite resource that should be used efficiently and wisely.
