Summer Fest Gathering Saturday to Focus on Sustainable Living
Halekiʻi Market is hosting its Summer Fest in true ʻohana style for their monthly market Saturday, July 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Haleki’i Market experience, established in the winter of 2020, features local crafts and art vendors, keiki entrepreneurs, fresh food and live music every first Saturday of the month. The gathering Saturday will carry a focus on community awareness and sustainable-living practices, highlighting Hiki Olaʻs Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Farming Initiatives.
In their efforts to assist historically underserved farmers and ranchers with special resources for their farming operations and environment, Hiki Ola is conducting a survey for Kona residents now until July 31, 2022. Come and complete a survey and receive a gift of an ʻaʻaliʻi seedling!
The link to the survey is here.
Community Outreach will include the Maʻi Movement, the Lions Club of Kona, and Community Cares with Tiana.
All events will take place on the grounds of Kona Grill House 81-951 Haleki’i St. in Kealakekua.
Recently established in February 2020, Haleki’i FMCF is a monthly community collective serving the Hawai’i Island community with Local Kuleana and ʻOhana-centered outreach, small business merchant offerings, sustainability focused and culturally enriched recreational programs and resources.
