Update:

The Hawaiʻi Police Department reports Saturday afternoon that 52-year-old Wayne Borreta has been located in Pahoa in good health. He had previously been reported as missing.

Hawai‘i Island police are seeking the community’s assistance in locating 52-year-old Wayne Borreta of Pāhoa, who has been reported missing and is considered endangered as he has a medical condition that requires medication.

He was last seen on Wednesday June 22 around 3 p.m. in the area of Hawaiian Shores, Pāhoa.

Borreta is described as local, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 170 pounds, bald top with white long hair worn in a pony tail, long white beard with tattoos covering his entire body. He was last seen wearing a black jersey tank top, tan surf shorts with black lines and he was barefoot.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.

If Borreta is located please call 911 or contact the police immediately.
