Aspiring youth basketball players are encouraged to sign up now for a University of Hawai‘i at Hilo summer tradition.

The UH-Hilo basketball programs are excited to host their annual Jimmy Yagi Vulcan Basketball Camp, scheduled for 8 a.m.-3 p.m. July 18-21 at the Pana‘ewa Park Gym in Hilo. The camp is for boys and girls ages 9-17 years old.

This year’s camp staff members will include UH-Hilo head men’s basketball coach Kaniela Aiona, head women’s basketball coach David Kaneshiro, assistant men’s basketball coach Steve Kinder and assistant men’s basketball coach Jamison Montgomery.

The cost to attend the four-day camp is $100, which includes a free t-shirt.

“Coach Yagi’s Vulcan Basketball Camp has been a summer tradition in Hilo for nearly 40 years,” says the registration information for this year’s camp. “As a pioneer of basketball in Hawai‘i, the Hall of Fame coach has led camps and clinics around the world helping generations of aspiring basketball players enhance their skill sets to achieve their athletic goals.”
