Weekly COVID Update: 966 New Cases Confirmed on Big Island
The state Department of Health reported 8,125 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, June 1, bringing the statewide total to 282,619. Six new fatalities were reported.
A total of 966 new infections were identified Wednesday on the Big Island. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 195,778
Hawaiʻi: 31,343
Maui: 32,420
Kaua‘i: 14,270
Moloka‘i: 1,078
Lana‘i: 742
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 6,988
Of those total cases, 9,248 required hospitalization, with 151 currently hospitalized. At least 1,457 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
