On Thursday, April 21, police arrested 33-year-old Seth Alan Pahinui Spidell of Hilo following the execution of a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the Keaukaha Hawaiian Homes subdivision in Hilo.

During the search of the residence, police recovered 20.27 pounds, (9,195.6 grams), of methamphetamine, two 9mm un-serialized semiautomatic pistols (ghost guns), a 9mm Mac10 pistol, an illegal high capacity semi-automatic pistol magazine, ammunition, and various drug paraphernalia items. Officers also seized for forfeiture $13,235 in U.S. currency and three vehicles.

On Friday, April 22, Spidell was charged with five counts of promotion of a dangerous drug in the first degree and promotion of a dangerous drug in the second degree. Because Spidell has previous felony convictions banning him from possessing firearms or ammunition, he was also charged with three counts of ownership possession prohibited; possession of a firearm in commission of a felony drug offense; two counts of manufacturing, purchasing, or obtaining parts to assemble a firearm having no serial number; and possession of prohibited weapons.
