Several Areas to Be Closed at Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park
Brief closures are planned this month for a few areas at Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park in Kona for helicopter operations.
According to a news release from the National Park Service, temporary closures are planned from 6-11 a.m. on the following dates and locations at the park:
March 11-25: Including Hale Ho’okipa Visitor Contact Station and parking lot and the main trail from Hale Ho’okipa to the Honokōhau shoreline.
The reason for the closure is to provide public safety during the removal of invasive, non-native vegetation via helicopter operations.
