The public is invited to chat with local law enforcement during another installment of a popular outreach program.

Hawaiʻi Police Department’s South Kohala Community Policing Section invites the Waimea and surrounding communities to join them for Coffee with a Cop. The event is slated for 9-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Waimea Starbucks in the Parker Ranch Center located at 67-1185 Māmalahoa Highway.

According to an announcement from the police department, these popular police outreach events are a great opportunity for community members to engage in conversation with their district police officers over a cup of coffee. Topics of conversation can range from sharing personal stories to answering questions or even discussing neighborhood or community issues.

Attendees are reminded that facial coverings are required and social distancing will be practiced. Tables and chairs will be sanitized after each use.

Contact the South Kohala Community Policing Section at 808-887-3080 with any questions.
