5 New COVID Cases Confirmed on Big Island
The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 282 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 89,875. Five new COVID-related fatalities were reported.
A total of five new infections were identified on the Big Island.
The state’s daily case average is now 180, with a test positivity rate of 2.8%. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 61,042
Hawaiʻi: 11,897
Maui: 10,218
Kaua‘i: 3,298
Moloka‘i: 257
Lana‘i: 145
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 3,018
A total of 5,138 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,063 have died.
