12 Additional COVID Fatalities Reported Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 124 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the statewide total to 84,814. Twelve new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

A total of 22 new infections were identified on the Big Island Friday. Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reports 361 active cases, and 13 persons hospitalized.

The state’s seven-day average is now 98 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.7%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 58,182
Hawai‘i: 11,193
Maui: 9,601
Kaua‘i: 2,708
Moloka‘i: 243
Lana‘i: 144
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,743

A total of 4,788 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 944 have died.
