East Hawaiʻi Health Clinics to Offer COVID Vaccine for Keiki Ages 5-11
East Hawaiʻi health clinics will begin offering COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages 5-11 starting Nov. 15.
Hilo Medical Center will be winding down vaccination efforts at the Arc of Hilo by the end of November. COVID vaccinations will continue at East Hawaiʻi Health Clinics and with other partners in the community.
CVS in Keaʻau is now open to scheduling vaccine appointments for keiki online. Vaccinations will start Monday, Nov. 8.
KTA clinic at the Edith Kanakaole Multipurpose Stadium is open to schedule appointments online on Friday, Nov. 12 from 2–6 p.m. The KTA Clinic at Waiakea High School is on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
HMC is treating 12 COVID patients as of Wednesday, Nov. 3.
According to HMC officials, seven are unvaccinated, five are vaccinated. One patient is in the ICU on a ventilator, five are in the Medical Unit and six are in the Progressive Care Unit.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 2, Kona Community Hospital is treating four COVID-19 patients. One is in ICU and the remaining three are being treated in the Med Surge Unit.
KCH has no plans to schedule vaccination clinics for keiki.
