Viewer Video: Car Fire Slows Traffic on Highway 190

Hawaiʻi Fire responded to a car fire on Highway 190 by Lihau Street this afternoon.
Arrieanne Arias captured video of the flames while passing by. She told Big Island Now she saw drove past the scene at approximately 11:50 a.m. Bystanders were directing traffic.
As they pulled past the area, Arias said Hawaiʻi Fire Department arrived.

Hawaiʻi Police confirmed the blaze on Highway 190 at mile marker 34. There were no reports of people in the car.
