The American Cancer Society (ACS) and Nā Leo TV will present the Relay For Life of the Big Island on Saturday, Aug. 28, on Spectrum Channel 54 from 7 to 8 pm.

Due to the pandemic, Relay For Life events might look different, but the passion and commitment to fight cancer are unchanged.

Nā Leo TV was on-site at the recent Luminara and Survivor Drive Through Experiences capturing the heart of the Relay event. Those who tune in will hear from cancer survivors, volunteers and community leaders. The night sky was illuminated with the glow of hope as participants remember loved ones touched by cancer.

“Whether coming together in person or virtually for this event, we’re rallying in the fight against cancer,“ said Lee Lord, ACS Hawaii Guam Board member “We envision a future where we no longer live with the threat of cancer. Unfortunately, that future is at risk and our mission is urgent especially considering the effects COVID-19 had on cancer screening and treatment, as well as fundraising. We need you to help us give hope and fund the future of cancer research.”
