DOH Reports 485 New COVID-19 Cases Statewide

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 485 new cases of coronavirus statewide Saturday, bringing the overall total to 4,210. No new COVID-related deaths have been reported.

A total of 101 new cases were identified on the Big Island Saturday. The increase in coronavirus cases has been expected with more travel and the arrival of the Delta variant in the Hawaiian Islands.

The state’s two-week average is now 263 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 5.5%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

A total of 2,708 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 537 have died.
