Big Island Reports 9 New Virus Cases Wednesday
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 56 new cases of coronavirus statewide Wednesday, bringing the overall total to 37,758. One new COVID-related death was reported.
Nine new cases were reported on the Big Island Tuesday. The state’s two-week average is 41 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.5%. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 27,096
Maui: 3,876
Hawai‘i: 3,195
Kaua‘i: 358
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 56
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,312
A total of 2,470 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 517 have died.
