A Hilo man is facing attempted murder charges, among several others, following a domestic incident that occurred early Thursday morning.

On June 10, 2021, at about 12:26 a.m., South Hilo Patrol Officers responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute at a residence on Kimo Place in Hilo. Officers located a 25-year-old female victim with multiple life threatening stab wounds to her back and leg. Officers also located the 24-year-old male suspect, Cyrus Jabilona, with several self-inflicted puncture wounds to his chest and arm.

Both parties were transported to Hilo Medical Center for treatment. The victim and suspect remain confined at HMC in stable condition.

Detectives from the Area I Juvenile Aid Section continued the investigation and, after conferral with the Hawai’i County Prosecutor’s Office, have charged Jabilona with Second Degree Attempted Murder and Felony Abuse of a Family or Household Member.
