No New COVID Cases Reported in HCCC Outbreak

The number of positive COVID-19 cases among inmates at Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center (HCCC) has remained unchanged at 99, authorities confirmed Friday afternoon.

According to the Department of Public Safety (PSD), two inmate test results were received as part of the mass testing effort underway at the facility. One was negative and one was inconclusive and will be re-tested. Additionally, PSD reported the number of active cases among jail staff has dropped from 13 to 10.

COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities. The inmate test results received at other facilities are as follows:

O‘ahu Community Correctional Center – 27 negative inmate test results
Women’s Community Correctional Center – one negative inmate test result
Maui Community Correctional Center – one negative inmate test result
Halawa Correctional Facility – one negative inmate test result
