25 New Cases of Coronavirus on Big Island Friday
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 69 new cases of coronavirus Friday. The statewide total is now 36,471. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.
Twenty-five new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Friday, where the Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center continues to struggle with an outbreak at its facility. The state’s two-week average is 52 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.1%.

A total of 2,351 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 501 have died.
To date, a total of 1,553,304 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide.
