The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 48 new cases of coronavirus Sunday. The statewide total is now 35,867. Two new COVID-related deaths were reported.

Eight new cases of the virus was identified on the Big Island Sunday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 63 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.2%.

DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

Maui: 3,604
Hawai‘i: 2,785
Kaua‘i: 314
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 52
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,213

A total of 2,284 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 496 have died.
