DOH Reports 73 New COVID-19 Cases Statewide

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 73 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday. The statewide total is now 35,585. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

Seven new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Wednesday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 81 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.6%.

A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 2,269 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 492 have died.
