Hawaii Reports 83 New Cases of COVID Monday

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 83 new cases of coronavirus Monday. The statewide total is now 33,834. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

Seven new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Monday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 78 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.6%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

Maui: 3,575
Hawai‘i: 2,764

Moloka‘i: 46
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,140

A total of 2,231 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 492 have died.

To date, a total of 1,362,417 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
