New COVID Cases Top 100 in Hawai‘i Thursday

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 101 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday. The statewide total is now 31,658. Two new COVID-related deaths were also reported.

Nine new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Thursday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 80 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.5%.

A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

Maui: 3,294
Hawai‘i: 2,660
Kaua‘i: 205
Lana‘i: 111
Moloka‘i: 36
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,027

A total of 2,092 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 476 people have died.

To date, a total of 1,105,651 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide.
