Haleki’i Market to Celebrate Keiki Entrepreneurs on May Day
Haleki’i Market is inviting the community to its first annual Keiki Day on Saturday, May 1. The event will take place on Kona Grill House Grounds 81-951 Haleki’i Street in Kealakekua.
In early 2021, Haleki’i Farmers Market and Craft Fair (HKM) extended an invitation to keiki entrepreneurs of Hawai‘i Island, and several exceptional kids responded to the call.
With the collaboration of local business owners, cultural art-infused guided workshops and on-site guidance, current Keiki Entrepreneur candidates are presenting their offerings at the weekly market. Some of these include beauty aides, custom tech-art printing products, artisanal crafts, personalized home decor products and specialized desserts.
The program has flourished and keiki are a market highlight for new and returning weekly visitors.
On May 1, HKM will be hosting a day-long celebration highlighting Keiki Entrepreneur booths. It will also feature the following:
● Live Entertainment and Music
● Keiki Hula performances by Ke Kula ʻo ʻEhunuikaimalino and Hālau Kaʻeaikahelelani
● Arts & Crafts Stations
● Fun Games for All ages
● Free Hot-Dog Booth by Jonathan Dale Miller Foundation
● Local Artist Vendor Booths
With the support of Kona Grill House and the leadership of Hālau Kaʻeakalelelani, the Haleki’i Market said it is inspired to make this a memorable event for the entire family in a safe and ʻOhana-centered environment.
