Surf to Rise Rapidly Around Big Island Saturday
The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the Big Island through 6 pm on Sunday.
Surf along north-facing shores of Big Island will rapidly rise to 12 to 16 feet late Saturday afternoon. Surf along east-facing shores of Big Island will rise to 6 to 8 feet late this afternoon.
Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents to make swimming difficult and dangerous. Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
