A missing Big Island man has been found dead.

Hawaii County police reported Tuesday afternoon that Tyler Armstrong of Kailua-Kona, who was previously reported as a missing person, was located deceased.

Armstrong, 30, was last seen alive on Friday, Feb. 26 leaving his place of employment at the Kona International Airport.

On Tuesday, March 2, authorities located Armstrong in an empty lot near his residence. Next of kin have been notified and have positively identified Armstrong’s body.

The cause of death is unknown, although police do not suspect foul play. An autopsy will be performed later this week to determine the exact cause of death.
