Small Business Saturday is Nov. 24, 2018. This day is retailers answer to Black Friday.

Started in 2010 by American Express who continues to sponsor the event and support local, independent businesses.

This year will mark the 12th anniversary of Kona’s locally owned, independent bookstore—Kona Stories. Since 2006 they have served the community with book clubs, keiki story times and hosted hundreds of local authors.

To celebrate their anniversary and Small Business Saturday visitors to the store will be greeted at the door with homemade Sangria made by business co-owner Brenda McConnell. During the day you can sample carrot cake from the Island Naturals Cookbook and have your books autographed by cookbook author Gina Franchini.
