Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center to Host Myers-Briggs Workshop
Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center will host a workshop entitled “Myers: Briggs: To Better Understand Yourself and Others” presented by Joan Shafer on Friday, Nov. 16, in Hilo. The workshop is part of the center’s “Tools to Transform Conflict” training Series and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is the most widely used personality assessment in the world,” said Shafer. “It reveals why you and others behave as you do and how to communicate and interact more effectively with your family, friends and co-workers.”
This workshop is intended for anyone who wants to understand and appreciate personal preferences, enhance their performance working in a team or as a leader, better recognize the motivations and strengths of others and improve interpersonal connections and communication.
Shafer is a management consultant and group facilitator who specializes in personal growth, leadership development, team cohesion and transformation programs for corporations and senior executives. She instructs clients across the country and at home in Hawai‘i. Shafer has been described as a “very perceptive and insightful assessor. She provides both clients and colleagues with clear interpretations of leadership assessment tools, enabling the assessed individuals to increase self-awareness and performance as leaders.”
Tuition for the workshop is $65. Group discounts and individual needs-based partial scholarships are available. Register online or contact Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center at (808) 935-7844 ext. 3 or majidah@hawaiimediation.org.
